Creating space for young people to grow

Grow the Future works with young people looking for a hands-on, outdoor, project-based experience in an inspiring environment. Together, we grow food for our community and regenerate the land where we work.

Our Mission

Through growing plants, producing food and regenerating the land, we offer training, engagement and employment opportunities for young people in a hands-on, outdoor, supportive setting.

Programs highlight

Grow The Future was born out of an identified need from young people of the Bega Valley to create spaces and have access to more hands-on learning.  Since 2023 we have created safe, project-based pathways where young people can learn, train, and work, all while growing food for our community.

Engagement Programs

The Grow the Future ‘Hands-On’ program is for 12–17-year-olds who are looking for outdoor project-based learning, with supportive work experience in an engaging and social environment.

Training Certificate

This certificate is made up of six accredited units from Horticulture, Conservation Land Management and Business, and three non- accredited units which give young people employability skills and knowledge combined with exposure to a range of industries and study areas and delivered in a hands-on, supportive and inspiring setting.

Employment

We provide employment for young people who need a supportive workplace environment to grow their capacity for more mainstream workplaces.

We work with a diverse range of young people to carry out key operations around the farm, building their confidence, capacity and connection in the process.

Read, Watch, Listen

Our work at Grow the Future is hands-on, tangible and project based and we have a network of community partners who work with us to achieve this. The foundation of this work has a way of working and a set of values that are explored and highlighted in these articles and our collaborations with partners.
